The weather on Saturday was OK considering.    Friday was mostly wet and the forecast for Sunday was worse.   Somehow the weather held off on Saturday and the rain never came.

Malcolm Scott won the 2000 race on Saturday, Robbie Watts took the win on Sunday.  He was racing elsewhere on Saturday.    Marc Fortune won the MotoMono race on Saturday and wet weather specialist Adrian Wright took the win on Sunday, although Nigel Davers took a very well deserved 2nd overall in the 1600′s, winning his class with ease.   The wet is a great leveller of equipment, and is more of a test of drivers skill.

Ewen Sergison and Jeremy Timm’s were lucky to escape serious injury when they were involved in an accident whilst lapping a back marker.

As Holmes and Watson become embroiled in the grisly Whitechapel murders of 1888 we remember the names of his victims, Martha Tabram, Mary Ann Nicholls, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Beddows and Marie Jeanette Kelly. All assured of a place in history, but the Ripper’s name remains in the shadows, from which he came.

Norwich Photo is building a car rig to mount a camera to a car.   It will be available to hire at reasonable rates for weekend or longer hire periods.

It will attach to the body or glass via Manfrotto suction cups and a camera can be mounted along an an aluminium pole in almost any position required.

I arrived at Donington Park late on Wednesday night ready for the test day on Thursday.   This day started off wet but dried during the morning, although the rain returned for a bit in the early afternoon.       The test day was an unsilenced day, with a mixture of cars ranging from a VW Golf up to older F1 cars and Group C machinery preparing for the Donington Historic Festival next weekend.

I stayed at the circuit on Friday, as traipsing back to Norwich only to come back the following day seemed like a waste of time and fuel.    There was a track day, in pouring rain.

There was a free practice session on Saturday, which some drivers elected to take part in, although many stayed in the garages as the weather was dry, but expected to be wet on Sunday, so there wouldn’t be many lessons learnt.

Sunday was very wet.  F3 Cup were first session and last session so it was a long damp, cold day!    I was very glad to be able to change my boots and socks for dry pairs at the end of the day.

This week I bought an underwater camera kit.   Mainly because of the Peli case it came in (ahem!)

However, I have decided to offer this kit out to hire.     Underwater cameras are expensive – the water proof housings alone range from several hundred pounds to well over a thousand for one to take a digital SLR.

My kit contains a new and unused 5mp digital camera, the matching waterproof enclosure (rated to depths of 200 feet) and a pair of underwater flashguns, with a wide angle conversion lens – with all the apparatus provided to use the camera.

If you are planning on a diving holiday, or need to take photos underwater, but don’t want to invest in your own equipment then why not hire my kit?

The Classic and Sportscar Club visited Snetterton for their season opener.    I was able to attend on the Saturday of the two day meeting.

Pop Star Jay Kay from Jamiroquai was racing (possibly his circuit racing debut?) in a pink Adrian Flux sponsored Porsche 911 shared with Sarah Bennett-Baggs.   They qualified 24th out of 38 starters but sadly retired shortly before the end.
