Tamdown Stages Snetterton

Snetterton hasn’t been used for rallying since 2003, but returned this year for the Tamdown Stages.    Eight stages were held using various configurations of the 300 layout, including using it in the opposite way to how it is run for circuit racing. The day was clouded in fog which meant that photography was going [...]

Monoposto Snetterton 300 – October 2011

The Monoposto Club revisited the Snetterton 300 circuit, during a season which started and finished on the remodelled Norfolk venue. Coming shortly after the Silverstone Arena support race to the Britcar 24 hour meeting, where there was a fairly high attrition rate, the numbers were somewhat down on the season average which has seen the [...]

Snetterton – VW Fun Cup / Saker & Production GTI

This was my second commissioned piece for Autosport magazine this year, and I was also covering the Production GTI series for a fellow photographer.    Regular Snetterton snapper for Autosport was having a weekend off at the Goodwood Revival, but I was on hand to cover the action. The start of the VW Fun Cup [...]

25 September 2011 – Snetterton Modified Live came to Snetterton for its end of season finale.    Modified Live is a successful meeting, comprising car show for modified cars, as well as track action courtesy of Time Attack and the European Drifting Championship. WTCC star Rob Huff was there to sample both a drift car [...]

BTCC Snetterton

The British Touring Car Championship is the most popular of the national motorsport series by some margin, and it was Snetterton’s turn to host the event, this time using the new 300 configuration for the first time.    Some 35,000 spectators came to watch the action resume after a 7 week break. Defending champion Jason [...]

2011 Lotus Festival – Snetterton

The 2010 Lotus Festival was a particular highlight, as Classic Team Lotus had managed to get an example of every F1 car that Team Lotus had built, and the Tony Fernandes flavoured  Lotus Racing F1 were present.  There was a capacity crowd that year. 2011 was never going to live up to that billing, but [...]

VW Fun Cup, Snetterton

The VW Fun Cup visited Snetterton once again.     For the uninitated, the Fun Cup uses space-frame mid engined cars clothed in a fibreglass shell resembling the old VW Beetle.    Races are long distance endurance affairs with several drivers and compulsary pitstops.

British GT & F3′s at Snetterton

The British GT and F3 meeting was the first major event that the new Snetterton 300 layout had hosted.    The weather was changeable on the Saturday with several sharp showers during qualifying which made tyre choice a bit of gamble.

Monoposto – Snetterton, round 1

Defending Champions Tristan Cliffe (2000), Nigel Davers (1600), Geoff Fern (1400) and Peter Bragg (1800) aim to kick start the defence of their titles with a good result at Snetterton, on the first weekend of racing on the new Snetterton 300 configuration.
