Monoposto Snetterton 300 – October 2011

The Monoposto Club revisited the Snetterton 300 circuit, during a season which started and finished on the remodelled Norfolk venue. Coming shortly after the Silverstone Arena support race to the Britcar 24 hour meeting, where there was a fairly high attrition rate, the numbers were somewhat down on the season average which has seen the [...]

Monoposto & F3 Cup, Silverstone Arena

The UK’s largest ever single seater race was staged at the Silverstone Arena GP circuit on the 30th September and the 1st August, as one of the support races to the 2011 Britcar 24hr endurance race.

Natural Causes

Natural Causes, by Eric Chappell.  Performed by Great Hall Players in October 2011. Vincent is from Exodus, a euthanasia group that assists people in suicide. When he is invited to Walter Bryce’s country house to assist in the disposal of Walter’s wife he senses something is wrong. Why are the suicide notes unsigned? What is the [...]

Snetterton – VW Fun Cup / Saker & Production GTI

This was my second commissioned piece for Autosport magazine this year, and I was also covering the Production GTI series for a fellow photographer.    Regular Snetterton snapper for Autosport was having a weekend off at the Goodwood Revival, but I was on hand to cover the action. The start of the VW Fun Cup [...]

Modified Live – Snetterton 2011

25 September 2011 – Snetterton Modified Live came to Snetterton for its end of season finale.    Modified Live is a successful meeting, comprising car show for modified cars, as well as track action courtesy of Time Attack and the European Drifting Championship. WTCC star Rob Huff was there to sample both a drift car [...]

MSVR Anglesey September 2011

The remains of Hurricane Katia was battering the North Wales coast when we arrived for the MSVR Weekend.   I was there covering the Monoposto Championship and also MSV F3 Cup.    I would class this as the most unpleasant weather combination I have ever shot motorsport in!    Constant winds of 30mph plus, made [...]

Toyota Sprint Series 2011- Round 5 – Croft Circuit

This was really the first time that TSS has visited a proper circuit – the visits to Rockingham utilise the outer oval with a coned course, and Teesside is a grown up kart circuit with a hilly bit. Croft has a well-publicised noise problem, caused by a messy divorce, and all entrants were reminded to [...]

MSVR Brands Hatch GP circuit

Noise complaints from the housing estates which surround the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, means the Grand Prix layout is only used a small number of times for race weekends.   These tend to be reserved for the top level events such as the British Touring Cars and the Historic Festival, meaning the shorter Indy [...]

Toyota Sprint Series 2011: RAF Cottesmore

A new venue for TSS at RAF Cottesmore near Grantham.    This course was a wide, very fast course which required precise lines to get the most from the course.    Jonny Milner levelled the series at two all with his friend and rival Adrian Smith, with two rounds left to go. The picture above [...]

BTCC Snetterton

The British Touring Car Championship is the most popular of the national motorsport series by some margin, and it was Snetterton’s turn to host the event, this time using the new 300 configuration for the first time.    Some 35,000 spectators came to watch the action resume after a 7 week break. Defending champion Jason [...]

Toyota Sprint Series 2011: Barkston Heath

Barkston Heath is an RAF airfield, currently operating as a training facility in conjunction with Cranwell, and during the post-war and Cold War era was a home to the Bloodhound surface to air missile systems.    A small, compact, twisty course which can be run in both directions remains a popular event each year, and [...]

MSV Trackday Trophy Brands Hatch

My previous post suggested the whole weekend was damp.   Some of it was actually quite nice.    The MSV Trackday Trophy got the best of the weather, especially for morning qualifying, as this shot from the top of Hailwood Hill shows.
